Pd. 3 Read pp 640-644 in text. Write the main idea for each paragraph, using your own words. Answer #1-4 on page 644. Information on the MMHS Technology Media Festival.

Pd. 3:   Journal:  which planet used to be considered Earth’s twin and why?   Which planet has the most moons?  How many?

View planets - add to your notes on planets.

Tuesday 11/27/07   Turn in signed grade sheets.

Pd. 1,5,6,7  Journal Entry:  What is deforestation?  Why do people cut down forests?  View example of a finished product.  Complete investigation report.  Learn how to annotate your images.

Pd. 3  Journal Entry:  What is located between Mars and Jupiter?                               What problems do these cause for Earth?  Finish filling out charts for planets.  Classify planets by different properties.

Wednesday 11/28/07 - Last day to turn in signed grade sheets.

Pd. 1,5,6,7  Journal:  Name 2 affects of climate that deforestation causes.  Do you think forests should be cut down?  Why or why not?   Review how to annotate images.  Learn how to post images and reports on wiki page.

Pd. 3  Journal: Name 4 properties that the inner planets have in common.  Name 4 properties that the outer planets have in common.

View example of final product with photostory.  Choose 2 planets to compare.  Create a storyboard of completed photostory with images, text and script.

Thursday 11/29/07 

Pd. 1,5,6,7 Journal:  Explain 3 actions that people can take to reduce the effects of deforestation.  Last day to check, correct group report and annotated images.  Last day to upload group report and annotated images and save the page.

Pd. 3  Journal:  what is the Oort Cloud?  Where is it?  What does it consist of?

Last day to complete storyboard for your planet photostory.  Learn how to create a photostory.

Monday 11/12/07

Pd. 1,5,6,7 – Journal:  The force of gravity on the Earth is _______.  The force of gravity on the moon is__________.  The force of gravity on the moon is less than Earth’s because ____________.  The formula for finding the time or distance an object falls to the ground is_____________.

Complete Gravity Simulation.  Use teacher simulation, or your own to answer the questions.

Pd.3 – Complete Chapter 23 preview document.  Finish for homework.

Tuesday  11/13/07

Pd. 1,5,6,7 – Journal: read pages 38-42, fully explain, terminal velocity, free fall, orbital motion and projectile motion.  Determine times and distances of box drop on different planets. 

Homework:  Illustrate and explain projectile motion.  Name and explain the 2 forces involved.

Pd.3 – Quiz on Chapter 23 preview.  Use Chapter 23 to collect data about planets.

Wednesday  11/14/07

Pd. 1,5,6,7 – Journal: What is the formula that shows the relationship between distance, gravity and time?  Problem using formula.  Video pretest, video on gravity, post test.  Homework:  3 problems on gravity. Quiz on gravity and speed Monday.

Pd. 3 – Journal:  Name the 4 inner planets and the 4 gas giants.  Which planet is the largest?  Which planet is closest in size to earth?  Which planet is now considered too small to be a planet?  Practice dropping a box off a 200m building. Complete finding data on planets.

What a useful and meaningful conference. It was uplifting to see acquaintances
from last year and meet new friends this year. Yeah to the North Dakota 4 - you guys ROCK!
