Video segments on wetlands and water quality.  Video and quiz on wetlands.   Pd.3 -  Miniquiz – 4 questions: Complete activity 1,2 of Hubble Deep Field  Homework: Reread pages 694-695 in text Answer the following questions using complex sentences: Why are dark lines in a spectrum shifted toward the red end when an object is moving away form you?Why do we not observe a red shift in the light of the galaxies of the Local Group?

Pd. 1,5,6,7 – JOURNAL: Name 3 factors that we could measure to help us determine the quality of a body of water.  Water quality studies practice.
Homework:  Voc. fill-in

Pd. 3 – Turn in Homework - Hubble Deep Field Act 1&2 and 2 Questions about Electromagnetic Spectrum.  Journal:  Draw label and color the kinds of radiation in the Electromagnetic Spectrum.  Which wavelength is the shortest, which wavelength is the longest?  Video and questions on Light.

Thursday 10/4/07

Pd.1,5,6,7 – Journal: Name 3 other factors that we could measure to help determine the quality of a body of water. Water quality studies practice.
Pd. 3 – Journal: Explain Doppler Shift, what is it caused by?  Explain red shift and blue shift.  What information can be determined by red shift and blue shift?  Computer explorations on galaxies and Electromagnetic Spectrum.  Read assignment - Electromagnetic spectrum.

Pd. 1,5,6,7 Field Trip to Assateague

Pd. 3 Quiz on Galaxies and Electromagnetic spectrum.  Diagram the Hertzsprung-Russel diagram.
