Pd.1 - Complete the Float the Titanic Challenge

Pd. 3 - Complete the Iceman video, re. scientific method

Pd. 5,6,7 - read chapter 1.2 and 1.3 of the Purple Physical Science book re. Scientific method and measurement.

Wednesday 9/12/07

Pd. 1,3,5,6,7 - Journal: Is their really enough suction from a large ship sinking to suck under people and boats close to it in the water?

View Mythbusters to find out. Record which steps of the scientific method they used to support or bust the myth!

Thursday 9/13/07

Pd.1,5,6,7 - Journal: How do police use science in their investigations?

Read “LOOK SHARP”, use a T chart notetaking strategy to write one important idea and explanatory detail for each Q&A. Finish for homework.

Pd 3 - Journal: write a summary of what you read in your novel or magazine. Read pages 6-12 of text and answer questions - finish for homework.

Friday 9/14/07

Pd 1,5,6,7 - Collect Homework (6-14 on Sharp Look paper). Make chart for Observation lab. Complete observation lab - turn lab in. Receive field trip form for Assateague National Park field trip on 10/5/07. Money ($10) must be turned in by 10/1/07. See form for eligibility rules. Receive grade sheet, must be signed and turned in by 9/19/07. Look for quiz by Thursday. Journals due on Friday9/21/07.

Pd 3. - Journal: How are humans able to smell. Is the human sense of smell a well developed sense?

Collect Homework (1-9) pages 6-12 in text. Read article on smell, prepare for lab on Monday. Receive grade sheet - must be signed and turned in by 9/19/07.
